While completing my degree in social work counseling, I was given the opportunity to teach Critical Thinking at university. Over the next ten years, I taught tens of thousands of young adults how to analyze arguments and approach the world with a more questioning mind. It was an intense and transformative experience—not just for my students, but for me as well.
Teaching people to think in new ways gave me deep insight into how beliefs shape self-image and worldview. Witnessing my students challenge their assumptions and grow in confidence was incredibly rewarding. This experience has profoundly enriched my work as a therapist, allowing me to better understand how thought patterns influence emotions and behavior.

Retroactive Jealousy OCD is an intense and disruptive condition, often leading to obsessive behaviors that can strain relationships and emotional well-being. Compulsions and intrusive thoughts can escalate, sometimes resulting in unhealthy or even destructive actions.
Individuals struggling with Retroactive Jealousy OCD may engage in compulsive behaviors such as secretly checking their partner’s messages, tracking their whereabouts, or attempting to access their browsing history. Some may even provoke arguments in an attempt to force confessions.
Over time, these obsessive thoughts become all-consuming, dominating both waking hours and dreams, making it difficult to focus on anything else. Much like other forms of OCD, resisting these compulsions can trigger severe emotional distress, including irritability, anxiety, and, in some cases, aggression.
In an effort to find relief, individuals may fixate on their partner’s past, replaying scenarios, scrutinizing details, and fueling their own distress. This cycle of rumination can lead to heightened paranoia, anger, and jealousy, ultimately threatening the stability of the relationship.
